Moto 3: Valencia pre-season test 8-9 February 2017
Il Marinelli Rivacold Snipers Team è sceso in pista, ieri ed oggi, sul circuito di Valencia, per le prime due giornate di test privati dell’anno, organizzati dal Monlau Team. Il vero protagonista della prima giornata di test è stato il forte vento che non ha consentito a Romano Fenati e Jules Danilo di esprimere al meglio le loro potenzialità. Squadra e piloti hanno preferito non rischiare e preservare moto ed energie per il secondo giorno. Oggi era il giorno giusto per togliersi un po’ di ruggine di dosso specie per Romano, fermo da troppo tempo, a parte i test di Valencia. L’ascolano si è concentrato sulla sua nuova moto e ha cercato il feeling con la squadra. Nonostante sia stata una giornata di studio, ha ottenuto il terzo crono con 01.40″106 ma, per la verità, nessuno dei presenti si è avvicinato al record della pista, un secondo più basso. Qui non era il caso: c’era solo da stirarsi le braccia e cominciare a lavorare. Un secondo più indietro troviamo Jules Danilo. Il francesino sta ritrovando il feeling con la moto e anche lui deve fare i conti con una parte della squadra rinnovata. Si torna a casa con sensazioni molto positive, considerando che i piloti hanno potuto provare solo il telaio in versione 2017. Le loro Honda, infatti, montavano ancora motore e carene 2016.
Romano Fenati: “Oggi è stata una giornata molto positiva! Peccato non aver potuto sfruttare entrambe le giornate ma ieri le condizioni erano proibitive a causa del vento forte. Abbiamo preferito preservare le forze e la moto per oggi ed è andata bene. Fin da questa mattina abbiamo lavorato bene sulla moto e adesso possiamo solo migliorarci. Continueremo il lavoro a Jerez nei prossimi test”.
Jules Danilo: “Questa mattina abbiamo lavorato bene, ma nel pomeriggio, per un lungo periodo, non riuscivo a trovare il giusto feeling con la moto. Ci siamo concentrati inizialmente sull’anteriore perché lì sentivo di avere maggiori difficoltà. Ma negli ultimi dieci minuti abbiamo cambiato il set up al posteriore e immediatamente ho ritrovato il feeling e ho cominciato a migliorare i tempi. Non sono ancora così vicino come speravo di essere, ma abbiamo tempo per trovare la strada giusta e, con la nuova squadra tecnica, capire come lavorare bene insieme”.

The Marinelli Rivacold Snipers Team came back on track, yesterday and today, at Valencia circuit for the first two private test days of the season, organized by the Monlau team. The real protagonist of the first test day was the strong wind which didn’t allow Romano Fenati and Jules Danilo to give their best. Team and riders preferred to avoid risks and preserve bikes and energies for the second day. Today was the right day to get the rust off, especially for Romano, who, apart from the latest tests in Valencia in November, was out from tracks for a long time. He concentrated on the new bike and on the feeling with the team. Anyway, he got the third time (01.40″106) but ,to say the truth, no one of the riders came close to the record of the track, still one second lower. One second is separating Jules Danilo. The French rider is trying to find back the feeling with the bike and he needs time to know his team, partially renewed. We come back home with positive feelings, considering that riders used just the chassis version 2017. In fact their Honda bikes still have the old engine and livery.
Romano Fenati: “It was a positive day! Unfortunately we couldn’t turn a lot yesterday because it was very windy and conditions were prohibitive. We preferred to avoid risks and preserve bike and energies for today and it was the right solution. We worked well for the whole day and now we just have to improve. We will continue the work at Jerez in the next test sessions”.
Jules Danilo: “This morning we started well, then for a long period in the afternoon, I was not feeling confident with the bike. We concentrated on the front as main problems were there but in the last ten minutes we decided to change the set up at the rear and the feeling came back immediately and I started to improve. I am still far from where I expected to be but we have the time to find the right way and, with the new team, to understand how to work well together”.
