ROMANO SFRUTTA LA SCIA DI MILLER E RITROVA LA SECONDA FILA PER LA 4^VOLTA IN QUESTA STAGIONE

fenatiMilano, 25 ottobre 2014.

MOTO3, SHELL ADVANCE MALAYSIAN MOTORCYCLE GP: QUALIFYING

SKY RACING TEAM VR46 GETTING AWAY FROM SECOND AND FIFTH ROW AT SEPANG

FENATI MAKES THE MOST OF MILLER’S SLIPSTREAM AND SECURES THE SECOND ROW FOR THE 4TH TIME THIS SEASON

BAGNAIA GOT STUCK IN THE TRAFFIC JAM AND TOMORROW WILL START FROM FIFTH ROW

Milan, October 25, 2014. Second and fifth row at Sepang for the Sky Racing Team VR46 ahead of tomorrow’s Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix, with Romano Fenati pulling off a great qualifying run. The Italian rider takes full advantage of Jack Miller’s slipstream (the Australian rider claims the pole, editor’s note) and notches the second row of the starting grid for the fourth time this season, as he finishes sixth in 2’13.434. It’s Romano’s fourth best placing of the season in qualifying, after the fifth spot in the Argentinian GP and the fourth position starts at Mugello and Indianapolis.

His teammate Francesco Bagnaia will be following him from behind, as he got stuck in a traffic jam in the final stage and clinched fifteenth spot in 2’14.290. Pecco did not manage to improve the good pace kept during the whole qualifying run and tomorrow he will have to pull off a comeback race getting away from the fifth row.

Sky-VR46 management“Both our riders did well. Romano showed a good pace and is going to get away from the second row, which for us is like the front one. We hope this placing will enable him to fight with the leading pack right from the start. Also Pecco kept a good pace and if he were to get off to a flyer, he could certainly improve the 11th place he got a week ago in Australia. We are therefore pleased with the team work and very confident about tomorrow’s race”.

ROMANO FENATI: “I’m happy because I finally managed to do a good qualifying and this will allow me to get away immediately behind the top group in tomorrow’s race. The feeling with the bike has improved a lot although there is still something to fine tune before the race, especially in T1, where today I struggled a bit to keep Miller’s slipstream. I am very confident about tomorrow’s race and I hope I’ll be fighting in the top group from start to finish”.

FRANCESCO BAGNAIA: “It was quite a complicated qualifying as in the beginning we wasted two laps due to a problem with the camelback. Then, once I got away, I managed to keep a good pace, alone I was able to run with pretty good times, but in the final stage I found a bit of traffic on the track and I had to turn off the gas. The bike is OK and so I am sure that tomorrow we will pull off a good race”.
