Sky Racing Team VR46: Romano a lungo in lotta con i primi. Migno frenato da un problema alla spalla.
E’ uno Sky Racing Team VR46 competitivo quello sceso in pista nel venerdì di prove libere del Gp di Spagna, sul circuito di Jerez de la Frontera. Fenati costantemente nel gruppo di testa nelle FP1 del mattino (5° miglior tempo in 1’47.917), è costretto ad abbassare il ritmo nella seconda sessione a causa del traffico e chiude la giornata girando in 1’48.110 (11° piazzamento complessivo). Più complicato, invece, il debutto europeo di Migno, frenato da un problema alla spalla sinistra che gli impedisce di andare oltre la 26^posizione nella prima parte (1’49.597). Non abbastanza per la determinazione del pilota romagnolo che nel turno pomeridiano migliora la sua performance, chiudendo al 22°posto (1’48.699).

PABLO NIETO / Team Manager Penso che possiamo ritenerci abbastanza soddisfatti. Negli ultimi test IRTA qui a Jerez non avevamo fatto benissimo e quindi sono contento dei miglioramenti visti oggi. Romano ha lottato con i primi, anche se nella seconda sessione è stato un po’ rallentato dal traffico. Ovviamente c’è ancora da lavorare ma l’ho visto molto carico, ha grandi motivazioni e sono convinto che possa essere tra i protagonisti nei prossimi due giorni in pista. La prova di Andrea è stata purtroppo condizionata dal problema alla spalla sinistra, ancora un po’ dolorante dopo la caduta dei giorni scorsi al ranch. Fisicamente non è al 100% però credo abbia dei buoni margini di recupero in vista della gara di domenica.
ROMANO FENATI / Pilota Questa mattina abbiamo fatto un’ottima prima sessione di prove libere, ripartendo da ciò che di buono avevamo fatto in Argentina. La sessione del pomeriggio è stata invece un’occasione per provare un setting nuovo della sospensione posteriore ed è stato utile per capire quale potrà essere la strategia migliore da utilizzare in gara. Domani continueremo a lavorare cercando le soluzioni migliori per affrontare le qualifiche.
ANDREA MIGNO / Pilota La spalla mi fa ancora male e questo non mi aiuta, però sto lentamente migliorando. 
La moto è a posto ma ci sono due curve di questa pista dove rallento molto e lì devo assolutamente migliorare. Sono fiducioso per le qualifiche di domani. Sarà fondamentale partire più avanti possibile perché domenica ci aspetta una gara molto lunga e la temperatura in pista sarà altissima.

Migno held back by shoulder pain, despite a good feeling with the bike On the very first day of the Gran Premio bwin de España free practice sessions, on the Jerez de la Frontera track, the Sky Racing Team VR46 turned out to be a competitive team. In the morning FP1 session, Fenati was able to steadily keep up with the front group (5th fastest time 1’47.917), but then he was forced to lower the pace in the second session because of the traffic and clinched an overall 11th spot with 1’48.110. A much more complicated European debut for Migno, having to bear with his aching left shoulder that prevented him from going beyond 26th spot in the first session (1’49.597). And yet the pain was not enough to curb the rider’s determination, as in the afternoon session he managed to improve his performance anyway, finishing 22nd (1’48.699). During pre-season tests here in Jerez we had not done very well and so I am pleased with today’s improvements. Romano battled among the top group, even if in the second session he was held back a bit by the traffic. Obviously there is still work to do but Romano looks very psyched up and motivated so I am sure he will be among the protagonists of the next two days on track. Unfortunately, Andrea’s performance was negatively affected by his still aching left shoulder following the recent crash at the ranch. Physically he is not 100% but I think he has good recovery margins ahead of Sunday’s race. ROMANO FENATI / Rider This morning we pulled off a good first practice session, building on the positives from the Argentina GP. The afternoon session gave us the chance to test the new setting for the rear-wheel suspension and that helped us figure out what may be the best strategy to use in the race. Tomorrow we will continue to work looking for the best solutions to adopt in qualifying. ANDREA MIGNO / Rider My shoulder still hurts and that is not helping me, but I’m slowly improving. The bike is good but there are two corners of the track where I tend to slow down a lot and that’s what I must improve. I’m confident for tomorrow’s qualifying. It will be crucial for me to get away as far ahead as possible because Sunday’s race will be a long and tough one, as the track temperature will get very high.
